Lodge History

The Warrant was first issued by Grand Lodge on the 7th November 1750,

the Lodge being situated in Pettigo, County Donegal.

The early history of the Lodge Warrant is rather unsettled,

as it moved from one town to another in its first century.

In March 1812, Lodge 215 had a disagreement concerning the Grand East,

which was a rival Grand Lodge briefly formed out of the Seton Succession or schism.

On the 7th of May 1812, this seems to have been settled and a duplicate Warrant was issued.

All seems to have been well until March 1848,

when the Lodge was moved to Rossharbour in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal.

Three years later, in August 1851 the Warrant was cancelled,

and remained out of use until the 6th of May 1859,

when it was issued by the then Grand Master,

the Duke of Leinster to the United Service Lodge in Newbridge, Co Kildare,

where it remains today.

Our first Worshipful Master in 1859 was W.Bro. F. Bordett.
